2026.07.08

HEM Pharma and Amway Japan jointly hosted the experiential event “One & Only Microbiome Lab” in Shibuya, Tokyo, from June 13 to 14, 2026.

Designed to promote a better understanding of the gut microbiome, the event offered visitors an opportunity to explore their own gut health while experiencing the value of personalized healthcare. The program featured a variety of interactive activities, including microbiome exhibitions, gut type assessments, fermented food tastings, and expert seminars.

Participants explored their individual gut types through lifestyle-based assessments and learned about the relationship between gut health and nutrition by sampling foods and beverages made with fermented ingredients. The event also introduced my LAB PLUS BY nutrilite™, a personalized gut microbiome analysis service that evaluates an individual's gut microbiome and provides tailored probiotic recommendations and lifestyle guidance based on the results.

The opening session featured Irina Menshikova, President of Amway Japan, and Yosep Ji, CEO of HEM Pharma.

Irina Menshikova emphasized the importance of extending healthy life expectancy by understanding each individual's gut environment and adopting personalized health management practices. She expressed her hope that my LAB PLUS BY nutrilite™ would help more people better understand their gut health and develop healthier lifestyles.

Yosep Ji highlighted the essential role of the microbiome in various physiological functions, including nutrient metabolism, immune regulation, and the gut-brain axis. He introduced HEM Pharma's proprietary PMAS (Personalized Pharmaceutical Meta-Analysis Screening) technology, which enables personalized gut microbiome analysis and customized health solutions. He also noted that the launch of HEM Pharma's personalized probiotic solutions in Japan represents an important milestone built on years of research and development.

Throughout the event, experts and researchers delivered seminars and workshops covering topics such as the relationship between the gut microbiome and disease, as well as healthy lifestyle practices. Dr. Juwon Kim, Associate Professor at Konkuk University School of Medicine, presented the importance of the microbiome and discussed how personalized microbiome solutions may contribute to extending healthy life expectancy. A gut-health yoga session was also offered, providing participants with a hands-on opportunity to experience practical approaches to maintaining gut health.

The venue also featured an interactive space where visitors shared personal commitments under the theme, "What I want to start today for myself 10 years from now." Participants reflected on their daily habits and exchanged ideas for building healthier lifestyles.

The event provided an engaging opportunity for visitors to better understand the microbiome and experience the value of personalized healthcare. Following the event, it received coverage from several Japanese media outlets, including Mynavi News, Newsweek Japan, and PR TIMES, reflecting strong local interest in microbiome-based healthcare.
